amendment

I just got the word that I am allowed to tamper with the tamper-proof and we have set the heat to 71 degrees, as mandated by the landlady.

I do hope this helps.

Cheers,

-Roxie

weee- I just got home...

For the two sets of eyes upstairs: I just got home after an exhausting day, I saw your blog, and scanned the apartment for any of our digital cameras that seems to be stored away in the safe place that you are sure to remember but never do.

Anyways, it's 7:30 - our fancy, new, tamper-proof thermostat reads 62 Degrees Fahrenheit, while the heat is actually set to 69 Degrees.

- that's all for now.
I think I will take up knitting, them fluffy sweaters look real nice right about now.

6*??

6pm. Heat not on. Feels much colder than it looks.
Suspect broken (or at least insensitive) thermometer.

66?

Apartment 3, early Friday afternoon.

Introduction

This blog documents apartment temperatures at 185 Russell St., a wooden 3-family 3-story rowhouse in Greenpoint, the northernmost neighborhood in Brooklyn. According to the landlady, the thermostat is set to the NYC-mandated minimum temperature. She has restricted access to the thermostat, and threatened some of the residents with eviction if they tamper with it.

As of this blog's inception on 11/16/2007, all of the residents are cold.
